Shiffrin dominates Zagreb slalom – ÖSV’s best athlete Gretsch

Mikaela Shiffrin celebrates a comfortable victory in her maiden slalom in Zagreb, taking Lindsey Vonn’s win one step closer.

The American also managed a flawless run in the second round. Shiffrin drove the fourth-best time and clearly edged out Petra Velhova (+0.76) and Anna Swin-Larson (+1.21) to second and third. “It was an almost perfect run, I couldn’t have done much better,” the naturally aspiring Dominator was very satisfied after the race.

The race ended in another disappointment for the ÖSV women. Katarina Linsberger, who was still fourth after the first run, only scored a few before the finish line and in good intermediate times was completely off the track. She has to step down and return to the 23rd position with a huge deficit.

Francesca Gretsch caught the coal at the halfway point and, with a strong push in the second round, improved to seventh place and thus became the best Austrian. Katarina Tropp and Katharina Huber were both eliminated in the second round.
