BIn the last Spartan race in his age group to date, Mario Trömmel AK finished second and thus secured a place on the podium. Tony Kuthmiller came in a strong seventh.

Not only was this the last race of the season, but for Mario Trommell it was also the last time he ran in his usual age group. Next season he will compete in the highest Spartan League, the so-called Elite. So we had to give it our all again when we said goodbye. On the list was the Spartan “Beast” (22.5km, 770m elevation, 31 obstacles). Trommell and teammate Tony Kuthmiller had to deal with another personal obstacle. The flight took place to Kumlo in Hungary, 460 kilometers away, on the night of October 13-14. Not the best conditions.
But the athletes at Most4tler Raccoons didn’t let that bother them. As usual, Kothmiller got off to a flying start. Trummel worked his way up and took the lead in the age group. This was followed by a tough battle with local hero Vilmos Haramura. After a mistake in the “Ape Hanger”, Wieselburger was finally forced to let his rival go. “The range wasn’t quite enough, I wanted a lot,” Trommell said. Despite the strong comeback, Haramura could no longer be caught. With a solid time of 2:12 hours, Trummel finished second in his age group and 15th overall out of 1,100 starters. Kothmiller stayed just over two and a half hours with a time of 2:33 hours and placed a very good seventh in the 35-39 age group. Farewell is like something out of a picture book. Enough motivation for next season.
