Tariff for tourists today | What vacationers in Venice need to know about entrance fees

The city of Venice is making plans to charge an entrance fee for day tourists. As of Tuesday (January 16) multilingual platform (http://cda.ve.it) Be effective. Entrance fees will be charged on a total of 29 days in 2024: from April 25 to 30, May 1 to 5 and on all other weekends (Saturday and Sunday) until July 13 and 14. This does not include the Republic Day weekend (June 1 to 2).

Venice has been struggling for years against the influx of tourists and has repeatedly tried different strategies to deal with the mass influx. According to Mayor Luigi Brugnaro, the entrance fee will primarily go towards maintaining and cleaning the city.
