The 2022/23 season is not over yet, so planning for next season is in full swing. While BVB will travel to the Far East during the World Cup break, the black and yellow entourage will travel to America next summer. Two Test matches have already been decided.
For the fourth time since 1954, 2018 and 2019, Borussia Dortmund will travel to America. “Back in Black & Yellow” is the motto of the tour. Head coach Edin Tercic’s side (40) will open their campaign against Manchester United on July 30 at 6pm local time at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. BVB have so far played six competitive matches against the “Red Devils” and won two of them. The British won three times.
Executive director Carsten Cramer has now announced the second enemy of the US tour. The Bundesliga club will take on Chelsea at Soldier Field in Chicago on August 2nd at 7:30pm local time. “A few days after the game against Manchester United in Las Vegas, we are looking forward to meeting another Premier League heavyweight, Chelsea,” Kramer told the BVB website. “We recently played each other in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League and we still have a score. In addition, returning to Chicago and Soldier Field is something very special for us, almost like a second home, because we will be playing here for the third time,” said the 54-year-old. Former Dortmund player Christian Pulisic (24) reunites against Chelsea.
Duels in Premier Class
So far on the balance sheet there are only two clashes between the black and yellow and the “blues”. However, these were not so long ago. In February and March 2023, the two clubs faced each other in the Round of 16 of the Champions League. The Londoners won 2-0 and 0-1.
