Police found a 40-year-old woman in Tennessee (USA) severely underweight with cuts on her face. She says she was kidnapped by her own accomplice and locked in a closet for two months.

Little food and no toilet

The woman was found last Saturday (March 11). According to initial findings, the 40-year-old managed to escape and confided in a man working on the street. US broadcaster CBS reported that he told him he had been detained for weeks. She also has cuts on her face and weighs less than 100 pounds. “The female victim was forced to remain in a closet locked with some type of locking device with a cable for approximately two months,” the company said in a statement. They added that the woman was only allowed out of the toilet for an hour a day, was given very little food and had no access to a toilet.

The suspect has been taken into police custody

The woman identifies her alleged abductor as her 30-year-old boyfriend. He was arrested four days after the woman was found and now faces aggravated kidnapping charges, police said. The victim, a 40-year-old man, was taken to hospital and later released. (jjä)
