Dead Space Remake was developed by veterans of Ubisoft, BioWare, and a few other studios, according to an analysis.

Veterans of the Assassin’s Creed and Mass Effect series, Shadow Of The Tomb Raider or Star Wars Squadrons and many more are among the developers belonging to the Remake of Dead Space From Motive Studio like Analyze VGC notices.

Creative Director Roman Campos Oriola has been specifically appointed to lead the remastered version of Dead Space in October 2020, according to EA. He comes from Ubisoft Montreal, where he was previously the Creative Director of the online brawler For Honor. Prior to that, he was lead designer for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (2012) and Red Steel 1 and 2 (2006, 2010).

“I’ve never had the opportunity to work in a survival horror game, which is one of my favorite genres as a player. So the opportunity to work in Dead Space was like, ‘Yeah, you can stop talking, I’m on my way,'” he said of joining Motive.

Artistic Director Mike Yazejian worked on Dead Space 2 as part of Visceral’s now-closed Montreal division. Most recently, he was the Artistic Director of Star Wars Squadrons and Batman Arkham Origins.

He said, “I actually found the old Dead Space 2 notebooks!” That suited us well because we saw all the notes from the sequel, everything the Visceral team shared with us during game development with them. Our concept art, visual guides, source materials, feedback on the conversations we’ve had with them and the knowledge they’ve gained – it’s all here. Everything flows in this game.”

Another developer who worked on the original Dead Space, former UX Director Dino Ignacio, confirmed that he’s advising EA Motive on the game’s direction, claiming that the game will be a “complete reproduction,” not just a single remaster.

Gary Stewart, a former BioWare level designer who has worked on every Mass Effect game since the second installment in the series, is now leading level design for Dead Space Remake.

Eric Baptizat, the former game director behind Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, joined Motive earlier this year. However, it is not clear what project he is working on as he has not commented publicly on it yet.
