Tonight’s New Yorkers defeated the Winnipeg Jets 5-2. The focus was on head coach Paredius, who was able to take his 900th victory in the National Hockey League.
Happy anniversary to one of the most successful coaches in history. The 59-year-old Paredius celebrated his 900th NHL win in his hometown, Winnipeg. He began his coaching career in the World League One in 1998 as a coach for the Nashville Predators. For 15 years he worked there behind the gang. He also represented the Canadian team as an assistant coach in four world championships.
After his tenure in Nashville, he signed a contract with Washington Capitals, where he led Alex Ovechkin and his company to the Stanley Cup in his third year of tenure. His greatest achievement in his career. He has been the head coach of the New York Islanders for four years now.
Voted twice as the best coach in the NHL, Barrydiot has 900 wins, the most for an active coach. Only Scotty Bowman (1244 wins) and Joel Quinville (969 wins) ahead of him.
