Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo: new teasers, new specifications

Redmi Note 12 4G, Note 12, Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro + have arrived in Europe, and the next model is already in the starting blocks. We already know that Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo will see the light of day on March 28 at 19:00. Thanks to some Weibo leaks and an AnTuTu benchmark visit, the technical data is already known. Now some new teasers with additional specifications have also surfaced online.

Accordingly, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo display will provide 12-bit color and support HDR10 +. The refresh rate is 120Hz, and there’s also PWM dimming at 1920Hz and SGS Low Blue Light certification. Previous rumors indicated a display diagonal of 6.67 inches and FHD + resolution. The Xiaomi phone is also said to offer fairly thin bezels measuring just 1.95mm on the top, 1.42mm on the sides and 2.22mm on the bottom. So the screen-to-body ratio of 93.45% is quite high. The device has a thickness of 7.9 mm and weighs 181 grams.

Additionally, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo is said to have stereo speakers with Dolby ATMOS technology and Hi-Res audio support as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. Also on board, typical for Xiaomi, is an IR transmitter. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage. This makes either Turbo or Realme GT Neo5 SE the first smartphone with 7+ Gen 2. According to teasers, the processor is cooled by a 3725 mm² vapor chamber.

No fingerprint sensor under the screen?

On the other hand, the second report goes in a slightly different direction. Accordingly, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo should have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of the under-display scanner. Also on the list of expected specs here is a 5,000mAh battery with 67W charging. The main camera is expected to be 64MP and is equipped with OIS. There is also an 8MP wide angle and 2MP macro camera. In addition to Android 13, MIUI 14 is also pre-installed.

Nothing is known about pricing and availability. However, Redmi Note 12 Turbo is expected to be launched in India on April 5th as Poco F5. And a little later, too, here and in the rest of the world.
