Allianz CFO goes to Generali – Bäte stays

DrAllianz Insurance Company ensures clarity at the top management. Oliver Butt’s term as CEO has been extended until the 2028 annual general meeting, the company announced Monday in Munich. The 58-year-old has been with Allianz since 2008 and has been CEO since May 2015. In deciding to extend his contract, the Supervisory Board cited sustainable and profitable growth within the group.

Meanwhile, Allianz is losing its chief financial officer, Giulio Terzarriol, to Italian rival Generali. She added that the 51-year-old Italian will be relieved of his position on December 31 so that he can pursue a career opportunity outside of Allianz. Generali announced on Monday that the Italian will take over the management of the newly created insurance division of the board of directors on January 1, 2024. The 51-year-old Italian should have a good chance of becoming CEO Philippe Donet’s successor.

Claire-Marie Coste-Lepott will take up the important role of CFO at Allianz at the beginning of 2024. As CFO, she spent four years restructuring AGCS’s major client division before returning to the company’s headquarters as chief actuary in September.

The 48-year-old Frenchwoman worked closely with current CEO Oliver Butt from 2011 to 2015, initially as his office director, and later as his deputy, when Butt was responsible for southern and western Europe on the board.
