The Austrian News Agency APA – Austria has been honored with this year’s “Excellence in News Agency Quality” award, the “Maxim Mentchev Award”, from the European Alliance of News Agencies.
The award for Outstanding Achievement by European News Agencies went to the Asian Parliamentary Assembly for the “Trustworthy AI” project that started this year. It deals with the trustworthy use of artificial intelligence.
About a dozen experts are involved in the development and implementation of APA Trusted AI. The project aims to provide guidance, products, and tools so that customers can understand, classify, and use AI correctly, achieve benefits, and achieve economic success. The aim is to further develop the news agency from a provider of multimedia content into a production platform based on data and artificial intelligence, APA managing director Clemens Page explained in a televised broadcast. “The concrete vision is to develop an AI-based media hub to serve as a shared knowledge space for media companies, where AI can be trained and used on the basis of clear, fact-based information,” says Page.
