Amatangelo reveals that he was given a “free hand” by running CD Projekt to take all the time he needs for Phantom Liberty, including providing any resources he requests. A lot also happened regarding the company’s structure. At Phantom Liberty, Amatangelo says he has taken several measures in place to prevent employees from becoming burnout, including a system for notifying management when someone has been working for extended periods. He said that if an employee requests to work a few extra hours, he would allow it, but only to a certain extent.

Internally, Amatangelo’s work seems to have been well received, because as he revealed in the interview, he will also take on the role of game director for the previously announced sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. However, we will have to wait a long time for the game, because development has not yet started and CD Projekt has indicated RED has already indicated that pre-production probably won’t start again this year.
