Holstein-Kiel: Uli Werner resigns – ‘can’t change his mind’

Ole Werner is no longer working as a head coach at Holstein Kiel. As the second tier team announced on Monday evening, the 33-year-old has decided to step down after being in charge of the KSV first team since September 2019.

“After careful consideration, I have decided not to be the head coach of KSV Holstein. This is a very difficult step for me after more than 15 years at the club, and after careful consideration I still believe it is the right and necessary step for the club. The former professional Kiel player for the club has worked in various jobs since 2013 and was already on the sidelines as interim coach in 2016, before taking the role again temporarily from Andre Schubert in 2019 and then being promoted.
