MyAs for Arthur, it is not currently interested in resuming nuclear talks with the United States. North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Jong-un said on Wednesday that such a plan was not currently being considered.
The day before, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s sister had rejected diplomatic talks with the United States.
Rim praised Kim’s sister Kim Yoo-jong’s statement, which, in her opinion, “invalidates judgment, assumptions and America’s expectations.” He cited statements from US Defense Adviser Jake Sullivan that he saw Kim Jong-un’s comments last week as “interesting signals” that North Korea should be prepared for dialogue and confrontation with the United States.
“We do not consider the possibility of contact with the United States. Let it be, it will not bring us anything, it will only cost valuable time,” Ri said in a statement released by the North Korean official news agency KCNA.
Earlier in October 2019, North Korea broke off nuclear talks. The talks were preceded by a meeting between US President Donald Trump and ruler Kim Jong-un in Vietnam.
