At the Cannes Film Festival, which begins today, Tuesday, she sits on the jury and evaluates the work of her colleagues, but of course Jessica Hausner is also working on a new film herself: “Club Zero” is one of a total of nine cinema projects funded by ORF in the context of the film agreement / TV co-financed. According to the last jury meeting, according to what was broadcast, a total of 1.9 million euros was awarded. Three feature films and six documentaries are being funded.
In “Club Zero,” Hausner deals with an intense cult of nutrition. The teacher acts as a leader, and the pupils are increasingly isolated under his influence from their parents and their environment. Hausner wrote the script with Geraldine Baggard. The Theory of Everything, directed by Tim Kruger, was also funded. Jan Polo, Udo Samil, George Friedrich and Sophie Royce pose for the camera in a thriller about a physical conference in the Alps in 1962.
Hades directed by Andreas Kopriva has been described as a gangsta comedy. This is how the director made his first film based on a book by Horst Gunther Fiedler and Anushiravan Mohseni. Kurt Langbein (“Bauer und Bobo”), Chris Krickellis (“IDCODE”) and Angela Kristlip (“Pandora’s Legacy”) are also new documentaries projects.
