Program 2024 – Theater in the Courtyard will be “open and sympathetic”

“What’s up?” is the slogan of the 2024 schedule on the stage in the courtyard. “Stay open and empathetic” is Alexander Hauer’s answer. The Artistic Director presents a series of events for the first half of 2024. Cabaret artist Omar Sarsam will begin his activities on Friday, January 19.

Omar Sarsam begins the new season with “Special Category” on Friday, January 19, at 7:30 p.m. His program aims to combine the worlds of cabaret artist and doctor and take the audience on a special kind of “doctor’s visit.” Theater in the Courtyard will be a guest at the Festspielhaus on Sunday, January 21 at 6 p.m. Songwriter Ernst Mauldin, singer Ursula Strauss, and musician Herbert Bixner perform together.

On Friday, January 26, at 7:30 p.m., Thomas Maurer will come to the state capital with a cabaret labeled “Maurer.Kafka.Komisch”. With his new program, he wants to present the opposite of the “bleak” Kafka. The music continues on Friday, January 27 at 7:30 pm with “Ladies of Vienna – Women’s Orchestra”. The 12-member power group brings the sounds of pure soul and rhythm and blues to the stage with “Enlightenment.” MoZuluArt will perform in concert with the Ambassade String Quartet on Wednesday, January 31 at 7:30 p.m. The band performs a mixture of traditional Zulu sounds with classical music such as Mozart’s compositions.

According to Hauer, another highlight is “1934 in the Cabaret Lens” on Friday, February 23. At 7:30 p.m., the phrase “Everything Was Already There” will illuminate Austria 90 years ago. Magda Lieb, Carola Niederhuber, Clemens Maria Schreiner, and Gregor Seberg read from scripts from the ABC cabaret in Vienna, which presented political satire from 1934 to 1938.
