Resigning out of nowhere at the age of 25!

Even the Swiss Ski Association probably did not see this resignation coming. On Tuesday afternoon, Juliana Suter announced her immediate retirement from alpine skiing.

“Okay, that’s it,” the 25-year-old wrote on Instagram, adding: “I’m retiring from skating as a professional athlete.” She is proud of her successes – the 2019 World Junior Championships title in downhill, and a win in skiing. A downhill ranking in the European Cup as well as several top-15 finishes in Super-G and downhill – but now it’s over for the young Swiss.

Some of her former teammates have already commented on her post. Among other things, Wendy wished Holdner all the best. “Coolio, you will be missed so much,” Michelle Jessen wrote. She also sent Sutter three hearts.

Strangely enough: Swiss Ski seemed to have been surprised by the decision and did not confirm the withdrawal until more than two hours later X. In addition, Sutter extended his sponsorship contract with Stoosbahnen for just one year in the summer.

Juliana Sutter, who collected World Cup points with a 22nd-place finish in the Super-G in Val d’Isère on Sunday, is the younger sister of Jasmina and Rafaela Sutter. Rafaela, now 28 years old, decided to end her career early. She actually put her skates in the corner in March 2019.
