Perhaps Manuel Wittner is being taken again. The Austrian skiing star is currently recovering under the Thai sun — and loving his new partner.
Ko Pha-Ngan – Manuel Wittner can still do it. ÖSV-Adler impressively showed that last year when he won silver on the normal hill and gold in the team competition with the Austrian team at the Olympic Games in Beijing. But it’s clear he’s not just in seventh heaven in the sport: The 37-year-old now likes fellow ski jumper Lisa Eder on Instagram.
Different seasons for the two adoring ÖSV Eagles
Fettner and Eder recently made several posts from their vacation on the Thai resort island of Ko Pha Ngan. ÖSV athletes take advantage of the time on the island in the Gulf of Thailand, which is famous above all for its beautiful beaches and wild parties, to recover from a long and grueling ski jumping season.
The 37-year-old Wittner won the World Cup on a big hill in Zakopane, Poland, with Austria this year and has also shown solid performances in other respects. On the other hand, for Eder, who was world junior champion in team competitions among others, the season was a disappointment: the 21-year-old could not take part in the World Cup vaulting event because of my crucifixion. He tore a ligament in training last June and has spent the last few months in a tight rehabilitation programme.
ÖSV jumpers relax on a love holiday together in Thailand
Before pre-season begins for both, the ÖSV Eagles are warming up together on the Thai holiday island. The new flying couple present themselves on Instagram as very cheeky and happy – the snowboarding fans are enjoying the time together.
The official declaration of love from the two is still pending, but the photos speak plain language. Eder also made a contribution with heart – a clear sign in the direction of her new partner, who, among other things, finished fifth in the third competition of the Four Hills Championship 2020/21.
The two ÖSV jumpers flew high together at the 2022 Olympics
The two ÖSV Eagles have already worked together in sport. Among others, they competed for Austria in mixed team ski jumping at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing and achieved 5th place with Stefan Kraft and Daniela Erashko Stolz.
In the future, they may also fly privately as a couple. Professionally, things will get serious again for the ÖSV Eagles from the end of November when the first men’s competition of the new season is in Ruka, Finland, and a week later, the women’s start of the year in Lillehammer, Norway.
On the other hand, another Olympic figure skating champion from Norway could not start the entire next season. (wuc)
