In Helldivers, you are the elite soldiers who have to defend themselves against evil aliens on their home planet. Everything is a little reminiscent of Starship Troopers, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. The new trailer now shows the first gameplay of the new game.
A third person shooter set in a galaxy far, far away
freedom. Hello. Guided democracy. These are the stats you want to have as a soldier. With up to 4 friends, you can fight against many different aliens that all look like alien insects. Until you can really assert yourself, there is enough firepower to choose from.
If you complete the missions successfully, you can improve both your weapons or equipment and your ship. Of course you will also meet stronger opponents all at once. Airstrikes, turrets, and shield generators are just a few of the cool things to look forward to.
The tactical work paid off
According to the developers, using a little brains should pay off. Depending on the terrain in which you are active or depending on the type of enemies to expect, adapting equipment can be beneficial. So it should not only be a full hack but a target pick for both defensive and offensive tools, weapons and add-ons.
Until your boredom kicks in and you don’t just have to start shooting blindly, you can also look forward to friendly fire. So it can happen in the heat of the moment when a soldier from your unit scans you. Annoying but useful gameplay.
