The Rohrbach District Orchestra delivers scintillating orchestral sounds

Limbach. The Rohrbach District Orchestra promises to present “sparkling moments” and thus shed light on the history of music at the concert on January 20.

The newly appointed team of band directors with Michael Knedinger and his deputies Sylvia Hackl and Stefan Reinthaler have drawn up a program featuring well-known compositions by musical greats such as Anton Bruckner, Leonard Bernstein, James Barnes and John Williams.

Highlights will be vocal and guitar solos: Eva Maria Marshall (soprano) brings Marilyn Monroe's classic “Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend” to the stage in the film's musical version of Moulin Rouge. Christian Hymel (guitar) accompanies the District Orchestra in Jeronimo Jimenez's “Intermedio.” Together, the two also let sparks fly loudly in the balcony scene from Leonard Bernstein's hit musical West Side Story.

60 strong orchestra musicians

A total of 60 musicians from 22 communities in the Rohrbach region make up the district orchestra and together they create the concert for which they have prepared extensively in just a few rehearsals.

Saturday, January 20, 7:30 pm
