03/22/22 Italian bassist and conductor Ottavio Dantoni will be Music Director of the Innsbruck Early Music Festival from 2024-2028. Former Operations Director, Eva Maria Sans, will become Artistic Director. Former General Manager, Markus Lutz, will become Commercial Director.
According to Radio, the new appointment to the board of directors is preceded by a “structural reconfiguration”: “As of the fall of 2023, the festival’s management team will consist of commercial and technical executive management.” for a maximum of three to five years.
The musical direction is chosen by the management in cooperation with a panel of experts appointed by the contributors. The three- to five-year cycle allows the Innsbruck Festival to “keep up with artistic developments and repeatedly win internationally desirable artists* for the position of Music Director”.
