Total War: Warhammer 3 Sets September Release for Massive Lords of the End Times DLC

Creative Assembly has confirmed a September 24 release date for Lords of the End Times, an expansive new DLC package for Total War: Warhammer 3. Described as the biggest downloadable content release in the strategy series’ 10-year history, the expansion introduces four Legendary Lords, dozens of new units and heroes, and significant changes to how new players can access the game.

The DLC will arrive alongside a major free update featuring Vampire Queen Neferata, faction reworks, new endgame scenarios, and revised victory conditions for existing Legendary Lords.

Lords of the End Times Arrives September 24

Set within Games Workshop’s Warhammer Fantasy universe, Lords of the End Times substantially expands the playable roster of Total War: Warhammer 3.

Creative Assembly said each of the four new Legendary Lords has been designed to provide a distinct strategic experience inspired by established Warhammer lore.

Four New Legendary Lords Join the Campaign

The expansion introduces Nagash, Boris Todbringer, the Glottkin, and Thanquol as playable Legendary Lords.

Nagash, the Supreme Lord of the Undead, seeks to drain life from the world as part of his pursuit of godhood. His inclusion brings one of Warhammer Fantasy’s most significant undead characters into the playable campaign.

Boris Todbringer, Elector Count of Middenland, fights to restore the flame of Ulric while defending the Empire.

The Glottkin bring the forces of Nurgle into the expansion, spreading the Chaos God’s corrupted gardens across the campaign map.

Thanquol, meanwhile, relies on elaborate schemes and calculated plans, reflecting the Skaven character’s long-established reputation for cunning and ambition.

New Units and Heroes Expand the Warhammer Roster

Beyond the four Legendary Lords, Lords of the End Times includes eight Legendary Heroes and five additional Lords and Heroes.

Players will also receive 23 battle units and 12 Regiments of Renown.

Among the newly announced battlefield units are the Khemric Titan, Verminlords, Putrid Blight Kings, and the Celestial Hurricanum. The expansion will also introduce new gameplay mechanics, objectives, features, and faction-specific systems designed around its Legendary Lords.

Lords of the End Times DLC Content

The expansion includes:

  • Four Legendary Lords
  • Eight Legendary Heroes
  • Five additional Lords and Heroes
  • 23 battle units
  • 12 Regiments of Renown
  • New gameplay mechanics, features, and objectives

Immortal Empires Access Gets a Major Change

One of the most notable changes involves Immortal Empires, the enormous campaign that combines factions and territories from across the Total War: Warhammer trilogy.

For the first time in the series, purchasing any Lords of the End Times DLC content will provide standalone access to the Immortal Empires campaign.

That means players will not need to own another Total War: Warhammer title to gain access through the new DLC, potentially lowering the barrier to entry for newcomers interested in the franchise’s largest campaign experience.

Free Update Adds Neferata and Major Reworks

The September 24 launch will be accompanied by a substantial free update available separately from the paid DLC.

Vampire Queen Neferata will join Total War: Warhammer 3 as a Legendary Lord. The update will also deliver a full rework of the Vampire Counts, giving the long-running faction refreshed gameplay systems.

Archaon the Everchosen will receive his own rework as part of the update.

New Endgame Scenarios Coming to Immortal Empires

Creative Assembly is also expanding the late-game experience with three new End Game Scenarios: Chaos Invasion, Vermintide, and Nagash Rises.

  • Vampire Counts rework
  • Archaon the Everchosen rework
  • Chaos Invasion End Game Scenario

A Major Expansion for Total War: Warhammer 3

With four new Legendary Lords, dozens of additional units and heroes, standalone Immortal Empires access, and a large accompanying free update, Lords of the End Times represents one of Creative Assembly’s most substantial additions to Total War: Warhammer 3.

The expansion and its accompanying free update are scheduled to launch September 24, marking another major milestone for the Warhammer strategy series a decade into its run.
