It looks like Apple is continuing to work on its car project. Now a former BMW executive, who recently led the start-up of an electric car, has been brought to the group. The iPhone company confirmed Friday evening that Ulrich Kranz is now working for Apple the edgewithout giving further details. According to information from the financial service Bloomberg Kranz will work at Apple on the team of former Tesla manager Doug Field, who is leading an automotive project.
At BMW, Kranz was one of the developers of the i3 electric car and the i8 sports car. He then worked at Faraday Future in the field of electric cars and then co-founded Canoo. Until April he was the chief of Kano. Bloomberg wrote that Apple acquired it a few weeks later.
Self-driving
For years, Apple has been developing technology for self-driving and testing luxury Toyota Lexus SUVs that have been turned into robotic cars on public roads. At the beginning of the car project, which lasted more than five years, Apple also offered prototypes to suppliers, but then it was mainly oriented towards software.
