Shortly before Easter, Ferrero in Germany recalled several well-known “Kinder” brand products. The background is a connection to salmonellaThe occurrence of outbreaks after consuming such products in several European countries. All products are made in Belgium. However, as it has now emerged, the contamination has been known since December 15th, so Christmas items have also been affected. As the company announced in a press release, salmonella was found in the two raw materials tanks area of the Belgian factory on December 15, 2021 as part of its inspections. Further investigations have shown that the salmonella that was discovered there showed a genetic match with salmonella from several cases of the disease in several European countries, including Germany. “We take these findings very seriously because protecting consumers is our top priority,” Ferrero said.
