“Imperio”: On Mariahilfer Straße, you can find fashion straight from Italy

The second location of the fashion store “Imperio” has been opened at Mariahilfer Straße 31. Fashion lovers can look forward to exclusive Italian fashion.

Vienna/Mariahilf/Newbuild. The couple Sonia and Wolfgang Lackner, owners of the fashion store “Imperio” at Mariahilfer Straße 95, opened a second location at Mariahilfer Straße 31 in March.

The two have been successfully running their first business since 2014, focusing on exclusive Italian fashion. For Wolfgang Lackner, Mariahilferstrasse is considered “Austria's shopping street” and therefore the ideal location for the two stores. In the store located in the heart of Vienna shopping, Lackner offers the latest and greatest trends from Italy. In the new location, the collection includes a large selection of Italian women's fashion, personally selected by Sonia Wolfgang Lackner.

The store at Mariahilfer Straße 95 also offers men's clothing. The two travel to Italy, to the fashion cities of Bologna and Milan, every two to three weeks to bring back new collections of Italian fashion. Sonia Lackner, the duo's trend expert, places a particular emphasis on natural materials such as linen, cotton and viscose.

Colorful and special

“The Italians are at the forefront when it comes to designs, trends and cuts, and we also offer something different from the big chains – more colorful and with special cuts,” explains Wolfgang Lackner.

Regular shopping trips allow them to react flexibly to weather and trends, as happened last September when they continued to stock up on linen dresses due to the heat. “This flexibility helps us a lot and we will stick to it,” says the owner.

What sets Imperio apart is not only fashion, but also customer service. “We offer fair prices and suitable advice for everyone,” emphasizes the owner. He is especially proud of his employees who vouch for this advice.

“we are crazy!”

The couple originally hoped the Lamar department store planned for the new location would attract more customers. But even though the department store was empty, they decided to open their second location. “The development is rather bad, and many of them are closing due to high rents,” explains Wolfgang Lackner, smiling. “A lot of things are closing and we are opening. We are crazy!”

The Lackner family has clear goals for the future: “We want to take good care of our regular customers and simply do our job.”
