VSV's new song “We for You” inspires. It's an anthem for the fans, for the fans and of course for the “Eagles”. The live premiere will take place on Sunday, September 22nd, live on the ice in the Stadthalle on the occasion of the home premiere against the Vienna Capitals (kick-off: 7:30 p.m.).
Villach. VSV's new song is already on YouTube Combo – We are for you Let's see and hear. The famous Carinthian live band “Combo” has captured the sound of “Adler” and written a new anthem for the EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV. The four musicians – Tobias Lebauer (stere harmonica), Christian Mosche (electric bass), Heimo Platzner (drums) and Manuel Figeli (electric guitar, vocals) – worked on this project with a lot of passion and emotion. The result is the song “We for You” that reflects the fan culture and the passion of “Adler” in every note. Martin Winkler, Managing Director of EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV, is also enthusiastic about the new VSV song: “We are happy with every song about our Eagles, because this shows how important the club is among the fans, but also in society in general. The combo song unites the fans and the team and has a completely successful character. Many thanks also to the members of the fan clubs who actively participated in the filming of the video. I am really looking forward to the live performance on the occasion of the home premiere against the Capitals!”
“singing out loud”
The first contact came after the band's performance at Villacher Kirchtag 2023. The “Combo” didn't hesitate for long, they immediately joined in with heart and soul. “The challenge was to create a song that, on the one hand, represents the emotion and strength of the club, and on the other hand, has the potential to be loved by the fans in the club.”
“Stadthalle has to be sung loudly,” emphasizes guitarist and vocalist Manuel Vigil. “It was important for us that the song reflected the perfect mix of rock and club identity.” They relied on an exciting beat and strong melodies.
Fans and club concerned
It was clear from the start: the song was not supposed to be a typical “party song”. “We wanted the anthem to help build up the team and the fans even in difficult moments,” the musicians explained. “When things are not going well, our song should give you the energy you need to keep fighting.” To reinforce this message, fan clubs and club members were actively involved in the production. “The typical fan chants and drums can be heard over and over again in the anthem, giving you goosebumps and emphasizing the close feeling of togetherness between the club, the fans and the players!”
The right music video
The production of the accompanying music video was a labor of love for all involved. No one wanted to leave it to chance how the song and its accompanying images would be presented. The filming took place in Villach’s town hall. From the ice masters to the hall staff to the fans – everyone helped make it happen.
To make the project successful.
Special equipment
The Müller harmonica was specially made for the song's video in the colors of the VSV club. Austria's largest harmonica manufacturer, Styria, designed the instrument specifically for the band. In addition to the Müller harmonica, Rettl 1868 Kilts & Fashion also supported the project by outfitting the band members with Rettl costumes for the video production.
Live show
Combo are looking forward to performing the song live with the fans on the occasion of their first home match on Sunday, September 22. “It will be an unforgettable moment for us, and hopefully also for all VSV fans,” the band members said.
