According to the organizers, American TV presenter Jimmy Kimmel will host the Oscars for the third time next year. Kimmel explained that presenting the film’s most important awards is “either a great honor or a trap.” Anyway, he joked, “He’s grateful to the Oscar Academy for asking me so quickly after all the good guys said ‘no’.”
Kimmel has been recognized as a trusted choice for the 95th Academy Awards this March. Last year, there was a scandal on stage when Hollywood star Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock in the face during a live broadcast of the ceremony. Rock previously made a joke about Smith’s hair loss wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Shortly thereafter, Smith won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in King Richard.
Party producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner said Kimmel would be “fun and fun for anything.” The comedian and television actor previously hosted the Academy Awards in 2017 and 2018. In its first year, La La Land was erroneously announced as the winner in the Best Picture category.
