He was only in the service of the crown, but he would not remain a loyal follower. Craig returns to Broadway to play Macbeth.
After leaving the role of James Bond, British actor Daniel Craig (53) has returned to Broadway in New York. Craig will take on a leading role in a production of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” alongside fellow actress Ruth Negga (39) – and in that role, of course, he’ll be working against the Crown. Shows should start in March.
Craig has previously appeared on Broadway several times, including in 2013 with his wife Rachel Weisz in the play “Betrayal”. Craig on Tuesday celebrated the world premiere of the fifth and final James Bond movie, No Time to Die. One of less than three hours Shows through routine action scenes and melodramatic shadow transformation (>> to “press” review).
No recent movie has been announced and postponed as No Time To Die. The premiere at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday was correspondingly majestic: Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla were there, Craig swaying across the red carpet in a raspberry jacket. Bond is back from Thursday also in local cinemas.
