People are often divided into two categories: introverts and extroverts. However, we now know that most people’s personalities fall somewhere in the middle. The term for this is ambivert. You can find out here if you are also a fickle person.
The paradoxical personality is characterized by both introverted and extroverted traits. Depending on the situation or environment in which the disturbed person finds himself, extroversion and introversion also fluctuate. As a reminder, introverts are not necessarily shy and quiet, they are more introspective. They focus more on their thoughts and feelings rather than looking for external stimulation. Extroverted people, on the other hand, recharge their batteries primarily in the company of other people.
According to American psychologist Adam Grant, two-thirds of people are neither clearly extroverted nor introverted – and therefore are more likely to be extroverted. Does this apply to you too? These features talk about:
1. You need variety
You don’t mind being alone sometimes. You can keep yourself busy and enjoy your own company. However, in the long run, you get bored and miss connecting with people. Conversely, you also love going to parties or events, but need time for yourself afterward.
2. You are adaptable
Troubled people have the great advantage of being able to adapt to the situation. They pick up the mood in the room and feel well whether it is appropriate to communicate calmly or frankly.
3. People around you describe you differently
While your colleagues may describe you as quiet, your friends see you as sociable and fun. Your behavior depends largely on your environment and how comfortable you are in it.
4. You don’t have to be the center of attention all the time
You don’t mind not being the center of the action. If you are, you might as well enjoy the moment and feel happy about it.
If these statements apply to you, you are probably one of the contradictory personality types. This means that you are in a fortunate position because you are able to be alone, but you also feel comfortable around people.
