According to their management, the South Korean boy band BTS is taking a short winter vacation. “This respite will give the BTS members, who have tirelessly devoted themselves to their activities, the opportunity to be inspired and recharge their batteries,” the statement said on Twitter. It is the first time since the group debuted in 2013 that the seven singers are spending the festive season with their families.

During the break, BTS wanted to prepare for a concert in March and a new album that heralded a “new chapter.” According to Billboard magazine, BTS topped the US singles charts last year with their song “Dynamite”. In July, the band climbed to number one in the US for the fifth time with their single “Permission to Dance”—the last time Michael Jackson hit so many hits in such a short time was in 1988, according to Forbes magazine. BTS recently won the Grand Prize for Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards.
