The British designer known for his menswear succeeds Grace Wills Bonner.
After Grace Wills Bonner, Craig Green will take over as Fashion Class Chair at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences on October 1st. “It is a great honor to accompany the wonderful team and students of the Department of Fashion Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and I very much look forward to working closely together over the next three years,” said Craig Green in his first book. The British designer, who studied at the famous Central Saint Martins College, founded his eponymous label in 2012. He has made a name for himself with his men’s fashion, where he deals with notions of uniformity and utility.
Lots of awards
The new applied professor’s designs had already been shown at a number of important exhibitions, and he was also responsible for opera costumes at the Royal Opera House. He has also received numerous awards for his work, including British Menswear Designer at the 2016, 2017 and 2018 Fashion Awards and Emerging Menswear Designer at the 2014 British Fashion Awards.
Green follows in the footsteps of designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Helmut Lang, Jil Sander, Raf Simons and Hussein Chalayan, who were already professors at the Polytechnic University. (red.)
