The boxing world has long dreamed of the ultimate women's fight between Estrada and Valle. Now the monumental fight is set for March 29 in Glendale.
Does it seem like the eternal wait is finally over? It will be a true boxing highlight when Yocasta Valle (30-2) and Senisa Estrada (25-0) finally meet in the ring. Both women are considered true P4P fighters who are a cut above the rest. Estrada currently holds the WBA and WBC bantamweight titles, Valle the IBF and WBO. A fight between the two will finally clear up the question of who is No. 1 in the women's bantamweight division.
It's not just a question on the respective weight classes, it's also a P4P question. If you go to Boxrec, for example, Valle is number one on the P4P list, ahead of Katie Taylor (23-1) or Amanda Serrano (46-2-1). Estrada is currently ranked 5th on Boxrec. A look at the famous The Ring reveals that both boxers are listed in the top 10 of all weight classes. The winner has a good chance of establishing himself as the best boxer in the world.
Estrada defeated Tina Ruprecht and recently had to undergo surgery
Estrada established himself early as a leading boxer. The handsome boxer became an instant hit in Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy promotion. While she can have a charming and friendly grin from ear to ear, she doesn't have much left to smile about when she's in the ring, especially for her opponent.
Estrada earned the record for the fastest knockout in women's boxing history in July 2020 when she brutally stopped Miranda Atkins (5-1) in the first seconds. In retrospect, there was much criticism of the appointment as Atkins did not have the necessary form to face a world-class boxer like Estrada in the ring. Estrada did not renew her Golden Boy contract and then moved to the top ranks of Bob Arum, where she became the face of women's boxing. He celebrated his debut there in November 2022.
In March of last year, Estrada managed to unify the WBA and WBC bantamweight titles against Augsburg's Tina Ruprecht (13-1-1). She last fought in an ESPN main event in November against Leonela Paola Utica (20-2-3), where she faced a surprising amount of opposition and came away with a not-so-disputed victory. As a result of this fight, Estrada had to undergo surgery on his hand.
Yokasta Valle – Boxing star from Costa Rica
Yokasta Valle will be on the other side. What's spicy is that Valle is referred to by Golden Boy, who Estrada broke up with. A native of Nicaragua, he spent many years living in Costa Rica, where he developed into a world-class boxer. Meanwhile, things haven't always gone smoothly for them in the past. He had a losing streak in 2017 and 2018. She was last beaten by Tina Ruprecht in June 2018 in Munich, but that would be Wally's last loss.
A huge amount has happened since then. Valle became the IBF world champion in June 2019 in Spain by defeating Jonah Pastrana (17-3). In total, he has successfully defended his IBF title nine times so far. In September 2022, he achieved another milestone by taking the WBO title from The Tu Nguyen (5-1) in a unification fight. This is the historic first title unification fight in Costa Rica's history.
Who is the queen?
Since her loss to Ruprecht, Vallée has established herself as a true P4P woman in boxing. Many boxing experts see her as the favorite in a possible fight against Estrada. Estrada, on the other hand, originally wanted to challenge another opponent for the first time since hand surgery, to test how his arm feels in a fight — but now the character is on the back burner.
There should be a big P4P fight with Vale that will turn women's boxing on its head. Estrada or Valle – Who's the Queen? This long-awaited question will finally be answered on March 29th at the Top Rankings event in Glendale, Arizona.
