At the beach café on the old Danube, the focus was on a good cause, but the highlight of the evening was the “Lucky 2023” election.
Several celebrities accepted the invitation of “Dancer Against Cancer” President Yvonne Rove and attended their first New Year’s Eve reception at the beach café on the Old Danube. While aristocrat Marion Nachtwey, entrepreneur Henrietta Zane, and Truth Hurts R&B singer Shari Watson enjoyed ribs and a budvar, others dared to look into the future while casting wax.
For good reason
The mission of Yvonne Rove, President of Dancer against Cancer, has been to ensure that the idea of philanthropy is not lost along with fun, culinary delights, and myriad future prospects.
“First we check how serious our guests are about their New Year’s resolutions. Anyone who doesn’t follow through on their good resolutions should do good and donate something to our association. Last year, despite the pandemic, 62,000 euros came together for our projects,” Roeff told all donors and to Strandcafe president Andranik Yeretsian, who in turn presented her with a donation check for €2,000.
The highlight of the evening
The highlight of the event was the “Lucky 2023” draw. A lucky basket has been presented to all candidates. Actor Martin Leutgeb was delighted with the largest mushroom. He can now adorn himself with that title.
“I’m not really lucky. Last year was somewhat mixed. The fact that I won here is a sign that things are looking up again,” says Leutgeb.

With the net proceeds from the event, Dancer against Cancer (DaC) supports many projects for people with cancer.
