Submission period has ended – Kamptal Wine Trophy: The best Kamptal wines on the test stand

Only wines from the Kamptal wine-growing region and fully modified wines with a state test number are accepted into this competition, which takes place twice a year.

Who wins the four seasons?

Certified sommelier and owner of Färberstub’n Stefan Horky invites winegrowers in the Kamptal communities to submit their own wines for the trophy. In the four categories “Leichte Veltliner” (2022 vintage, up to 11.9 percent alcohol by volume), “Frühlingsveltliner” (2022 vintage, from 12 to 13 percent by volume), “Young Rieslings” (2022 vintage, up to 13 percent percent volume) and “Reife Veltliner” (born in 2021 or older, dry to semi-dry), the winners will be decided.

The application deadline is April 15th

Winegrowers who want to be there can purchase three bottles of wine for each wine presented in a three-piece box until April 15th at the restaurant “Färberstub’n” in Hadersdorf am Kamp – between Wednesday April 12th and Saturday April 15th. April: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Initial tastings for trained tasters, winegrowers, and wine experts are scheduled for Friday, April 21st. The final food will then be served on Thursday, April 27, by an impartial jury comprising journalists, restaurateurs, and bartenders.

Announcing the winner of the evening party

The award ceremony is planned with a gala evening, in which the Horky team will once again present delicacies from the kitchen to go with wine, on Thursday 11 May, in the “Färberstub`n”. The famous cabaret entertainer and actor Andreas Vitasek will be the honorary protection of the event and will be personally present when the best is selected. The best winery of the year won’t be decided until the next cup in the fall.
