Cameron Mackintosh's new production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic celebrated its well-attended premiere.

A Large-Scale Musical Return: VBW Music Director Christian Strobeck brings Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's “The Phantom of the Opera” to the Raymond Theatre. The original production is one of the most successful musicals of all time, with a total audience of more than 160 million visitors in 46 countries and 195 cities in 21 languages, and winning more than 70 of the most important theatrical awards. The film tells the mysterious story of the Phantom who lives in the catacombs of the Paris Opera, and his great love for the young singer Christine Daae. It enhances their talents, which does not shy away from underhanded tactics.

In the lead role of “The Phantom”, Anton Zetterholm returns to Vienna after numerous stints on the international stage.
First seen at VBW was Lisanne Clemence Veeneman, who made her debut in Vienna as “Christine Daaé”. The production features numerous special effects – including a legendary chandelier. Seth Sklar Hine is in charge of production.
