Music Award

A total of 16 Vorarlberg musical compilations and solo works have been nominated for the ORF Vorarlberg Sound @ V Music Prize. You can look forward to prize money totaling €25,000. An expert jury selected the nominees from among 72 entries. Online voting begins May 29.

Since March of this year, 72 Vorarlberg bands and solo acts have submitted their applications for the ORF Vorarlberg Music Prize “Sound @ V” 2023. A team from ORF Vorarlberg, poolbar festival and “Wann & Wo” have nominated the finalists. Now an international jury of experts and the public will decide from May 29 via online voting on the winners of “Sound @ V” 2023.

16 candidates initially

There are four acts to choose from in each of the four categories of rock/pop, alternative/singer-songwriter, open air, and newcomer presented by AKM/aume.

Pop/Rock Category:

Alternative category / singer-songwriter:

Open pool category:

Now it’s the fans’ turn: from May 29 to June 30 they can vote for their favorites online at vorarlberg.ORF.at. With every click, the nominees move one step closer to the coveted music award.

Evaluation by an international expert jury

In addition to online voting, candidates are evaluated by an international jury of experts. Susi Ondrušová as well as Nora Pider and Julian Angerer known as ANGER were selected as members of the jury.

Austrian Susi Ondrušová is Head of the Lyrics Department at Radio Station FM4. Decides which bands will be reported on and who will be invited for interviews or which concerts and festivals will be presented on FM4.

Nora Beder and Julian Anger aka ANGER from Brixen, Italy now live in Vienna and make music together. They won the famous Austrian music award “Amadeus Austrian Music Prize” in 2020 and are currently working on their second album with Wanda’s producers Paul Gallister and Lukas Kofler.

“Sound @ V” is performed by ORF Vorarlberg with “Marke Vorarlberg”, “Wann & Wo” and “poolbar-Festival”.

Awards Ceremony At the Awards Ceremony

The overall prize winner of €25,000 will be announced at the “Sound @ V” awards ceremony on 7 July as part of the “poolbar festival” in Feldkirch. Admission to this event is free.
