¡Alegria! – That is the joy of life, that is music, it is a reflection of the soul and an expression of deep feelings. Under this motto, the 6th La Guitarra Erl Festival from 15 to 17 August will be a celebration of the joys of musical life: passionate, poignant, powerful and universal. With “Alegría”, famous musicians and artists from different countries and cultures develop a wealth and diversity of timbres and styles and take the audience into their own musical worlds full of emotions, dedication and life-affirmation.
La Guitarra Erl will open on August 15 with a stunning solo concert by Fingerstyle champion and 2024 GRAMMY Award winner Tommy Emmanuel. With his unique guitar style, virtuosity and charisma, this exceptional Australian guitarist amazes and inspires the world. When Tommy Emmanuel picks up the guitar, his playing not only combines musical influences from country, folk, blues, jazz, African and American styles to Spanish and classical elements, but also impresses with his amazing playing style.
The gala evening on August 16 with the Julia Malychnyj project is perfectly in keeping with the festival's motto. You can look forward to a musical and dance masterpiece with an amazing lineup of international and national musicians and dancers. Renowned Carinthian artist Harald Schreiber will also bring the visual arts to the stage – creating the impressive stage design.
On August 17, participants of the JUNGE MEISTERKLASSE guitar workshop under the direction of guitar teacher Stefan Hackl as well as guitar students from the Tyrolean State Conservatory from Daniel Müller's class will present themselves at the concert LA GUITARRA NEXT GENERATION IN CONCERT in the foyer of the Festspielhaus.
After the Stars of Tomorrow and Masters of Tomorrow concert, this summer's flamenco highlights will take place: Five-time Latin Grammy winner TOMATITO is one of the greatest guitarists of our time. He is a flamenco designer full of ingenuity and exciting creativity that combines traditional flamenco with jazz, rock, blues and bossa nova. Accompanied by his famous son José Del Tomate on guitar and a first-class group of singing, percussion and dancing, visitors can expect a stunning flamenco night for all the senses: traditional and very modern at the same time.
