Metal meets Mozart: Metal Escalation 2023 Festival in Stupbach – Day 1

On the weekend at the foot of the Semmering, in Stupbach, the Metal Escalation 2023 festival took place for the third time and attracted many guests with its impressive line-up.

stopwatch. On Friday, August 25, 2023 and Saturday, August 26, 2023, many metal fans made a pilgrimage to the grounds of Mozart’s last castle to perform with several bands.

The festival was opened on Friday at 2:30 pm by the first band, “The Rising Kilts”. The band members moved from the castle grounds to the festival grounds with their bagpipes and prepared for a great start to the festival despite the sweltering heat. Followed by “Brewtality” and “Dearisch”, “Mortal Strike” and “Ghidrah” put on a great show.

The surprise show and highlight of the festival was the performance of the Austrian pianist Paul Golda. They sang with the band “Jedrah” under the title “Metal Meets Mozart”. The editors found the look amazingly well-done. The metal version of Mozart’s “Diris Irae” with piano sounds by Paul Golda gave the audience goosebumps.

Other live performances in the evening were the bands “Interregnum” and “Tuxedoo”. Argentine band Tridana was scheduled to headline the first day of the festival at 10:30pm. They performed at the Metal Escalation Festival in Stupbach for the second time. The band very close to the audience gave a great finale to the first evening with their vocals.
