Spanish actor Guevara captured in Venice

Shortly before receiving his award at a festival in Venice, Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara was arrested in the beach city on charges of sexual assault. As reported by the Italian news agency ANSA on Sunday, the 22-year-old was arrested by police on Saturday when he arrived at the Lido. Therefore, the French judiciary issued an international arrest warrant against him.

Guevara was supposed to be honored on Sunday at the Italian Film Festival, which is being held in parallel with the famous Venice Film Festival. Filming organizers in Italy said the award for the star of the Prime Video drama “Culpa Mía” has been suspended pending the results of an investigation.

A court is scheduled to decide whether to extradite Guevara to France in the coming days. What exactly he is accused of is unknown.

And the Venice Film Festival, known as Mostra, confirmed that Guevara was not invited there. “Regarding the press reports that have been published on some pages during the past hours about the arrest of the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara, the Venice Biennale makes it clear that his stay in Venice is not related to any activity or production” of the traditional festival, said the one who posted on Twitter (X).
