“Christine Lavant was a remarkable and extraordinary woman. Her strength and her special talent in creating texts with great intensity are unique, timeless and touch our hearts,” said host Herta Stockbauer, CEO of BKS Bank, who hosted the film evening in the large ballroom of BKS Bank with Klaus Graf. The headquarters was opened in Klagenfurt.
The evening was hosted by theologian and author Arnold Mitnitzer, who also invited people to discuss Christine Lavant’s personality and film production. There were Hans Schmid and Elisabeth Wigotschnig from the “Association Christine Lavant International”, director Danielle Proscar, producer Livia Graf-Pichler, and musician Edgar Unterkirchner, who composed the music for the film and accompanied the evening with his specially developed compositions.
As part of the film evening, Mitnitzer also recited selected poems by the author. “Christine Lavant – How Delicate is Despair” is a co-production between Graf Film and ORF. Director Danielle Proscard traces the life of the Carinthian-born woman using numerous personal letters and poems as well as interviews with experts and people from the Lavant family environment. Actress Gertie Drassel gives Christine Lavant an impressive figure and voice.
