Are fans seeing another Formula 1 race in America in the near future?
It is already known that Formula 1 is more popular in the States now than ever before. Last season, there were three Grand Prix events in the United States; In addition to the regular racing in Austin, there were also night shows in Miami and Las Vegas that were worth checking out.
Now motorsport's premier class wants to continue this wave of hype.
It was recently announced on social media that Formula One Licensing BV, a subsidiary of Formula 1, has acquired the naming rights for a race in the US's third largest city from the US Patent and Trademark Office.
“Grand Prix of Chicago”, “Formula 1 Grand Prix of Chicago”, “Chicago Grand Prix” and “Formula 1 Chicago Grand Prix” – these are the specific names.

But how realistic is the introduction of a species in a city of millions?
Well, in 2017, Formula 1 won the naming rights to Miami and Las Vegas – in fact, the races don't take place until 2022 and 2023, respectively.
In addition, the rights to a possible race in the “Big Apple” were secured in the same year, but as far as we know, there are no concrete plans for a World Cup race in the metropolis.
In any case, fans are likely to be less enthusiastic about the event – after the announcement of the race in Madrid from 2026 (all details >>>), reactions on social media were negative. This may be important as more and more traditional routes are disappearing and being replaced by modern street circuits.
